Continuously transposed conductor

Stan Zurek, Continuously transposed conductor, Encyclopedia Magnetica, E-Magnetica.pl

Continuously transposed conductor (CTC) or continuously transposed cable1) - a multi-strand conductor, in which each strand is transposed in order to occupy each possible position within the given cross-section area.

Such conductors are used for reduction of copper loss caused by skin effect and proximity effect.

A similar concept of strand transposition is used in Litz wire.
