Hard disk uses several magnetic devices. Magnetically semi-hard coating is magnetised and demagnetised to store the information. Reading and writing is performed by a magnetic head, which can generate strong magnetic field to erase, and magnetic sensor to read the bits of information. The main plates are rotated by an electric motor. The read/write head is moved by an electromagnetic actuator.
