A convention for finding which end of a [[/current loop]] or a [[/solenoid]] can be associated which [[/magnetic pole]]. If current flows anticlockwise when looking at the loop then this is the [[/north pole]]. Conversely, when looking at the loop the current flows clockwise then this is the [[/south pole]]. Current flow is in the electrical sense (the actual electron flow is in opposite direction).
