[[/Segmented stator]]. Each segment is made as a [[/stack|stack of laminations]], and is detachable. The stack is directly overmoulded with a plastic [[/bobbin]] so that the [[/coil]] can be wound directly on the plastic, without the need for additional electrical insulation. Each segment has an interlocking part so it attaches itself to the neighbouring segment and keeps in the position once the whole [[/stator]] is assembled.

The technology was demonstrated by [[http://www.pvs-plastics.net|PVS]] at [[/Coiltech]] 2015.
