Segmented stator. Each segment is made as a stack of laminations, and is detachable. The stack is directly overmoulded with a plastic bobbin so that the coil can be wound directly on the plastic, without the need for additional electrical insulation. Each segment has an interlocking part so it attaches itself to the neighbouring segment and keeps in the position once the whole stator is assembled.
The technology was demonstrated by PVS at Coiltech 2015.
