Trafo (or TRAFO) - an abbreviation of the word “transformer”.¹⁾²⁾

The abbreviation trafo is used frequently as jargon in Central and Eastern Europe, for instance in Germany³⁾, Poland, Russia, etc., especially in languages in which the word is even longer: transformator (rather than transformer as in English).⁴⁾
