Rotor

Stan Zurek, Rotor, Encyclopedia Magnetica, E-Magnetica.pl

Rotor - the rotating part of an electric motor or generator.

The rotor is usually an inner part of the machine. However, there are constructions in which the rotor is placed outside of the stator, and then names like stationary rotor and outer rotor are used.
