Current transformer (CT for short, but also: current-sensing transformer¹⁾, current-sense transformer²⁾, current sensor³⁾, current transducer⁴⁾, special transformer⁵⁾, instrument transformer⁶⁾, current probe) - a type of transformer for measurement, sensing or monitoring of electric current.

A current transformer is usually designed for reducing amplitude of an AC current from the primary to the secondary winding.
