Quadrant - one quarter of the area on a given two-dimensional graph, as delimited by the axes of the coordinate system.1)

By convention, the quadrants are numbered in an anticlockwise manner, starting from the top right:2)3)4)

  • top right = first quadrant
  • top left = second quadrant
  • bottom left = third quadrant
  • bottom right = fourth quadrant
