Depending on the mathematical definition, there are several types of magnetic susceptibility. They all quantify the same underlying magnetic property, but have different numerical values and/or units, because the calculation is carried out per unit volume, per unit mass, per mole of matter, affected by the parameters of exciting waveform, etc.1)
